We currently have an opportunity for a Contract Workforce Curriculum Project Manager for 20 hours per week for 4 months.

This position is responsible for overseeing the successful completion of the core curriculum books currently in development. In partnership with the Director of Workforce Training, this role would include managing and reviewing content going to and coming back from a publishing firm. Managing a team compiled of volunteer subject matter experts, contractors, and staff keeping them on track and holding accountable to deadlines. Setting up and conducting conference calls with team members for updates, check-ins and reports multiple times a week through the project life cycle. The role requires a dedication and commitment to the successful outcome of the project in the expected timeframe.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Manage goals and expectations of volunteers and contracted SMEs, keeping them on track and making sure they meet their deadlines

 

  • Communicating with internal staff on timelines, goals, and objectives to stay on track

 

  •  Coordinate with publishing company on deliverables, answering questions or managing communication between them and staff/contractors/volunteers.

 

  • Holding phone calls, conference calls to keep staff, contractors and volunteers up to speed, and get weekly and bi-weekly status reports.

 

  • Managing workload of the group. Able to search and procure additional subject matter experts if needed.

 

  • Manage and organize documents in Microsoft Teams going to and coming from SMEs, Contractors, Staff, and Publishers.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

In partnership with the VP of Technology Application & Workforce Initiatives, this position will be responsible for managing volunteer subject matter experts and contractors.

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training, preferably in the consumer electronics or custom electronics field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or degree in project management with experience and knowledge in the consumer electronics or custom electronics field. Advanced technical knowledge in the custom electronics field including cabling, audio, video, integration, automation, acoustics, equipment installation, and IT/networking is a plus. Prior project management experience, preferably in the consumer electronics or custom electronics field.

Ability to identify with a collaborative, fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial, bottom-line driven association.

Must be able to develop schedules and timetables for instruction with clear, specific goals and deadlines in place. Must be able to identify and organize instructional needs and required resources.

 

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to lead and work extensively and effectively with all levels of volunteers. Must be able to problem-solve computer and system issues with learners.

 

  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, association/industry research, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, technical curriculum, published article content, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of directors, clients, customers, and the general public.
