We currently have an opportunity for a Technical Trainer.
This position will be responsible for training and related project management for a comprehensive residential electronic systems education program. and will have the following responsibilities:
• Conducting both classroom and online training instruction derived from curriculum specific to the industry or profession of the association's members
• Coordinate with staff and volunteer groups' plans to ensure alignment with department goals and manage the implimentation
• Support curriculum development by serving as a subject matter expert and advising, developing, writing, and updating presentations and courseware as needed
• Assist with the review and evaluation of technical curriculum for accuracy and adequacy for education materials including presentations, courseware, eCourses, online resources and activities, and white papers
• Manage the procurement process and purchase of equipment for training events as needed, maintain inventory of all equipment, and follow proper procedures for returning equipment and reporting in-kind donations internally
Qualifications:
• Must possess strong written, analytical, and organizational skills, and the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously
• Exceptional Presentation skills and proven experience with adult training delivery and classroom management
• Demonstrated continuous improvement efforts to improve operations, and streamline work processes
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment when necessary
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree preferred; with 3-5 years related experience
• Working technical knowledge in the custom electronics field required to include: cabling, audio, video, integration, automation, and IT/networking
• Small business or electronics business experience either in an ownership or management capacity, or in a training capacity highly recommended
• Ability to identify with a collaborative, fast-paced, highly entrepreneurial, bottom-line driven association. Ability to work flexible work schedules (evenings and weekends possible)
• This position will require extensive domestic and international travel (up to 60%)and weekend instruction
